My advice always comes from my parents. The have instilled in me the qualities of always demonstrating good character, standing up for what you believe and to believe in myself at all times.

Name one thing you cannot live without.
I cannot live without two items - my cell phone and my laptop. The two items are my main source of communication on a daily basis.

What is the most valuable lesson you ever learned?
I have learned to view failure as a part of the learning process rather than to accept it as defeat.

I possess two role modes. They are my parents. They have been a constant positive influence in my life. You will find me talking with them daily beginning early in the morning and several more times throughout the day.

I am always told that I look younger than I actually am. Most people say that I look as if I am thirteen and I am about to turn nineteen. As I get older I am learning to appreciate this compliment rather than an insult.

I would not say that I have any one color as my absolute favorite. I tend to lean towards the brighter tones. I feel that bright colors help you stay in a cheery mood each day. My friends say that I am one of the perkiest people you will ever meet - maybe they should try wearing the brighter colors too.

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
My idea of fun is to spend time with my friends. We might stay home and watch movies or go shopping. This helps me take my mind away from school and preparations for competition. To relax I like to pop on my iPod and select some soothing tones. As for recreation - what is that? I simply do not have much time for outside activites. Between schoolwork, choral music ensemble rehearsals and preparing for Miss Mississippi I do not have much free time. That will come after Miss Mississippi.

What would be your dream vacation or destination?
I have always wanted to visit Paris. I hear it is a shopper's paradise, especially the shoes. I have always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower.

I am from Kosciusko. Most people have trouble saying its name. The best thing about being from Kosciusko is that everyone knows everybody and they are always genuinely concerned about you. The citizens of Kosciusko and the Holmes Community College district have all been so gracious and supportive of me. I hope to make them all proud!

What do you like best about the state of Mississippi, besides our food & hospitality?
The greatest thing about the state of Mississippi is that you can live in a small town and have what most call a small town life, but at the same time you can travel the world without ever leaving the borders of our state. Mississippi has much to offer. My hometown is in the central portion of our state. We have a rich history given to us by the native american population. The southern portion of our state provides a coastal type lifestyle offering deep sea fishing as well as sea ports for imports. The delta region offers not only music for the world but provides many companies with agricultural supplies from catfish to cotton. The northern portion of the Magnolia state probably produced much of the furniture in your home. Our state is the home to many varying ethnic backgrounds - providing a world-wide culture.

What's in your CD player or on your iPod right now?
My iPod is filled with many genres. I might begin my selection with a country tune and then you might fine a blues selection. I am very diverse with my music. I enjoy all types and have even grown to have an appreciation for classical music.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In 10 years I would like to have obtained a bachelor's degree in the field of interior design. I hope to have married and also started a family.

Who am I?
To describe myself I would begin by using the word passionate. I am passionate about music. I love to perform and would like to one day become a recording artist. I have visited Nashville, TN and would love to be there with the many great recording artist this town has produced. I know that this is not an easy task, but with patience, endurance and passion I hope to one day fulfill this dream. I am also compassionate. I a very caring individual. I always try to be there when my friends need me the most. I would only hope they would do the same for me.

I enjoy life and try to live everyday to its fullest potential. I am involved with the choral music department at my college. I sing in the choir, gospel ensemble and our showchoir group - The Holmes Connection! We serve as ambassadors for our college and complete a recruitment tour throughout our district each year. This provides me the opportunity to share the qualities I enjoy the most about Holmes Community College.

Tell us about your occupational experience.
I have worked several part-time jobs while attending high school. Now that I am so involved with the choral music program at my college I am no longer able to have an outside job. Rehearsals take up much of my free time.

Tell us about your platform.
No child is born possessing a particular set of characters. A child's character is an accumulation of words, thoughts, actions and values they learn along the way as they grow up. My hope is that I can make a difference in the lives of today's youth by assisting them to build their character based on the fundamentals of respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, honesty and citizenship.

By partnering with schools, businesses and community organizations I will encourage cooperative participation to help develop the youth's character. My specifi accomplishment will be to assist children in developing character so they woud possess the ability to make wise, moral and ethical decisions despite all the negative factors and influences which present themselves.
