What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I have ever received is a quote that says "Stop telling God how big your storms are and start telling your storms how big God is." People often forget that in the middle of a difficult circumstance God's presence is larger than the problem itself.

Name one thing you cannot live without.
The one thing that I absolutely cannot live without is music. People say music is the window into the soul and I find this statement very true. Music is a huge part of my everyday life.

What is the most valuable lesson you ever learned?
I have learned that one must live each day as if it were their last. Living life to its fullest makes every moment a wonderful memory.

Who is your most valued role model and why?
My mother is my most valued role model. She has taught me so many life lessons and has been a perfect example of these lessons.

ne of my senior water aerobics student's five year old grandson told me that I had a voice like an angel.

My favorite color is pink. I am a very feminine girl and it suits my bubbly personality perfectly.

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
I like to get into my car, drive without any destination, put my favorite CD in and roll down the windows. This is not only relaxing, but extremely therapeutic after a long day at school or work.

What would be your dream vacation or destination?
I would love to travel to Italy. I am fascinated with Italy because of its beautiful architecture and amazing cuisine.

What do you like best about your hometown?
I am from the very small town of Taylorsville. I love the people and the way everyone cares for each other. We are like one big happy family.

What do you like best about the state of Mississippi, besides our food & hospitality?
What I like best about Mississippi is the fact that is the birthplace of the blues and rock and roll.

What's in your CD player or on your iPod right now?
At the present moment, I have Casting Crowns in my CD player. I also have Martina McBride and Gavin Degraw.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In ten years, I can see myself happily married with a family and owning my own boutique.

Who am I?
There are several facets to my life. I am a very compassionate person who loves people and loves to be around people. I am especially compassionate towards those whose lives have been uprooted by any number of circumstances. Compassion is a word that many people do not use with the respect that it deserves.

I am at the core a "country girl". I love the outdoors, country music, animals, and all the things that go with the simple life. On the other hand, I love to dress up, go shopping, eat Italian, and occasionally be a "daddy's girl". I treasure the home I grew up in, the town, and the people. All these things have made me who I am.

My greatest passion is singing. I honestly cannot remember a time when I was not singing something...somewhere...or to somebody. Singing gives me a sense of satisfaction. Singing is also very theraputic. When I'm sad, worried, or just need a little uplifting, all I have to do is start singing and all is right with my little corner of the world. I also love to know that my singing can make someone else's day a little brighter, too.

Tell us about your occupational experience.
I am currently a patient coordinator for Alliance Imaging. My company performs PET scans for cancer patients. I have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful and courageous people battling this terrible disease. I recently met a young college student with lymphoma. He was an inspiration to me as he struggled to keep his spirits up. This job has made me realize that life is short and fragile. I try not to take anything for granted.

Tell us about your platform.
My platform is "Making Adoption an Option". What I hope to achieve with my platform is the potential for helping young, pregnant women deal with the option of placing their baby into an adoption agency as opposed to having it aborted. This issue is so near and dear to my heart because my brother and I were both adopted at birth and were so blessed to be given to such loving and supporting parents.

I hope to implement my platform through Crisis Pregnancy Centers throughout the state. I also plan to join forces with many adoption agencies across Mississippi, such as the Baptist Children's Village.
